9 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TRAVEL AND VISA BEFORE COMING TO VIETNAM FOR BANGLADESH CITIZENS
Beside Vietnam visa, AFP Marybeth Bond advises Bangladesh citizens to memorize the words “thịt chó" (dog meat), "thịt mèo” (cat meat) and “tiểu hổ” (tiger minor) to not eat the wrong.
1. Through the road: To overcome this difficult challenge, slowly settle into the car under the road, keep the speed stable, do not hesitate, do not stop, do not text by phone or see the map when crossing the street. The vehicle will automatically adjust to you.
2. Be careful with dog meat, cat meat: You will be very easy to eat if you do not pay attention. Learn Vietnamese beforehand for these two words to distinguish. Although there was a law that did not consume cats in 1997, it still appeared very much. There are also smugglers from China and Laos to Vietnam. In the menu, cat meat is called "Little Tiger".
3. Vietnamese currency: USD / VND exchange rate is about 23,390. Visitors must try to pay attention to numbers to use correctly. The tips are you should remember the color of each type of money to avoid confusion.
Vietnamese currency has many denominations so it is easy to mistake.
4. Properly pronounced word "Pho": This delicious dish is everywhere. Bangladesh citizens should try to learn the correct pronunciation to avoid misunderstandings when ordering.
5. Dress appropriately for the season: During summer, the weather in Vietnam is hot and humid, so you can leave your jeans at home. In winter, the North of Vietnam is very cold, you should wear a thick jacket. Look at the weather forecast before you leave, and bring an umbrella in case it rains.
6. Buying a Vietnamese sim on arrival: You can buy a sim at the airport. When you're done, you can buy a card at any street corner. You can also use free applications to make calls, text messages if Wi-Fi is available. However, be sure to turn off roaming before using Wi-Fi.
7. Your passport is valid for at least 6 months: Bangladesh citizens need to make sure your passport is valid for 6 months after your arrival in Vietnam. A passenger sitting next to me on a flight to Hanoi was denied entry because his passport is limited to more than 5 months. Customs officers in Vietnam are very strict in this.
Your passport is valid for at least 6 months
8. Beware of trick taxis: There are many trick taxis in the airport. You should book Car Pick-up Service to avoid being overcharged. You do not have to pay tolls, so if you are asked to pay, refuse. Drivers in Vietnam often do not obey traffic laws. Ask them not to talk on the phone while driving, as they can drive the wrong way and charge higher than the actual, not to mention dangerous.
