What is a visa upon arrival?
Visa upon arrival is known as another name of visa on arrival (VOA). There are some features of the visa that you must be aware of:
- You can not apply for it by yourself at the Vietnamese Embassy in your living country but need to obtain a valid sponsorship of a legitimate Vietnam visa agency.
- You must complete the application at least one week prior to your arrival date to receive the approval letter in advance.
- The letter needs to be taken with you along the trip. You will show it to the Vietnam Immigration Department at the airport to get the visa stamp.
- The validity of the visa will be counted from the first date when you enter the country which must be as same as the one put in the application form.
- You can enter any of three international airports: Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh city), Da Nang (Da Nang city), Noi Bai (Ha Noi) city with your letter.
- Once the visa expires, you must leave the country or else you will be disciplined. You can apply for Vietnam visa extension or Vietnam visa renewal if you want to stay longer without moving out.
