1. Do you require a copy of my scan passport?

   In most cases, a passport scan is not required for an online visa application. However, if the Immigration Office wishes to verify the information you provide, you are required to send them a scanned copy of your passport. In such cases, we will notify you by email immediately.
2. What should I do if I find out that I entered the wrong passport number or personal information after submitting application form?

   Shortly after submitting your application, you are receiving a confirmation to the email address you provided us. In this email, we confirm the information you entered earlier. If you find out any mistakes in passport number or personal information, please contact us right away by sending a correction email to visa@visa-vietnam.org.vn.

   If you do not catch the mistakes until later, you are advised to re-apply for a new visa with the correct information because once your application is processing, none of the information could be amended.
3. What if my passport has expired?

   To apply for a visa to Vietnam, your passport must have at least 6-month-validity. Therefore, if your passport is about to expire, please get a new one before applying for your visa in order to avoid unwanted problems at the airport.

   In case your passport has expired, you have to get it renewed before making visa application. The reason is that according to Vietnam regulation, the passport must be at least 6 month valid from your entry date or else you will not be allowed to enter Vietnam. 
4. Can I travel without an Approval Letter and still get a visa when I arrive?

   No, you cannot. You are not allowed to enter Vietnam without a visa on arrival unless you are of Vietnam visa exemption list.  In order to board the plane, you must show the approval letter to the airlines. This letter is also compulsory in order for you to get the visa at the Vietnam airport. Therefore, we recommend that you leave plenty of time to apply for the visa to avoid having to delay or change your flight.
5. What if I change my flight and arrive at another airport in Vietnam?

   Visa on arrival works if you arrive at any of the three international airports: Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Noi Bai (Hanoi) and Danang (Da Nang). There is no problem with switching among these three airports.
6. Can I enter Vietnam earlier than the granted arrival date in my visa approval letter?

   No, you cannot. A later entry is allowed but an earlier entry is not. In case you change your plan and want to enter Vietnam earlier than the granted arrival date, you are recommended to apply for a new visa approval letter.
7. Can I exit Vietnam later than the granted exit date in my visa approval letter?

   No, you cannot. An earlier exit is allowed but a later exit is not. In case you wish to stay longer than your visa expiry date, you are recommended to apply for a visa extension.
